My intention is to bypass the editorial mind; to engage the complex layers of experience more directly. I am informed by the unhindered impressions of childhood and, increasingly, by the deepening perspective of old age. As our culture of the vicarious proliferates, the communication of authentic experience becomes, I believe, both an aesthetic and an ethical necessity.
