Nancy Canyon has painted, drawn, sculpted, made music, danced, and written stories since grade school. She started writing two novels in the 5th Grade and began painting pine silhouettes in oil in the 7th grade. She currently writes, makes collage, and paints in her Morgan Block Studio at 1000 Harris, #6.
She has been a member of the Morgan Block Studios, 1000 Harris, #6, in Fairhaven since 2006. Besides beautiful paintings of water reflections and lily pads, Nancy’s novel “Celia’s Heaven,” and her book of poetry “Saltwater,” are available in her studio, as well as tiny paintings, greeting cards, and handmade books.
When Nancy isn’t working in her studio, she teaches writing for Chuckanut Writers and is a Writing Coach for The Narrative Project. Nancy has an AOS in Visual Communication Northwest Collage of Art, a BA in Psychology from Marylhurst University, and an MFA in Creative Writing from PLU. She is currently writing a memoir about her work as a fire lookout in the 1970s.
